ASIPP Member Update May 29, 2020

Dear Friends:

We hope you are doing well and reopening the practices.

News on Second Stimulus
HHS yet again confirmed the way they will be paying for the second stimulus.
Now it says that the lesser of a) 2% of 2018 (or most recent complete tax year) net payment revenue; or b) the sum of reported revenue losses for March and April 2020 due to COVID-19. Providers who received a payment between April 10 and April 17 that is equal to or more than 2% of net patient revenue may not receive additional payments from the $50 billion general distribution. For more information, see Terms and Conditions and APNews
Based on this new information, we have until June 3 to complete the applications.

Telehealth
We continue to work on various measure to increase telehealth through August or for the duration of public health emergency; however, we have not received any information. We will keep you informed as soon as we learn more.

Multijurisdictional CAC Meeting about Facet Joint Interventions
The meeting went very well. We believe that many ASIPP members and all ASIPP CAC members made a good representation. There were also multiple ASIPP members as subject matter experts.
I hope all members have voted. There is a comment period in one week for CAC members. Following this, they will issue a proposed LCD which will be the same for all jurisdictions and will be discussed in their respective open meetings. After that occurs, it will go to closed meetings and become final unless changes are made.
It is crucial that you continue to watch the release of LCDs. We will of course keep you posted.

ASIPP Facet Joint Interventions Guidelines 2020 have been released.
These guidelines are large. Abstract shows important aspect of the evidence synthesis; however, remember these are only guidelines and these are not standards of care.
The guidelines included 41 authors, 127 pages, 20 figures, 34 tables (and 4 appendix tables), and 687 references.
Hopefully, these guidelines will help the patients, practitioners, legislators, CMS, and others.
Thank you and have a great weekend!
